In the 2018 World Cup group stage match, Portugal was about to be at the top of the group stage with the maximum point.
They were about to beat the Spanish national team based on points.
They only had to win against Iran, which they were sure of winning as they had an early lead in the match, and the time was going to get to its end.
Everything went fine until the referee called a handball, and Iran's side got a penalty.
Karim himself took the penalty, and he managed to score a goal.
Portugal ended up with a draw and 2nd place in the group stage.
But the former English captain Shearer denied considering Karim's goal as he believed it was an invalid penalty.
He said it was an unintentional handball where the defender had his eyes closed because of the close shot.

When asked about the best player in the world, he took the name, Cristiano Ronaldo.
