Her son, Mikkel, is 23 years old.
Mikkel's football journey
Mikkel started playing football at a very young age. His father put football on his feet as soon as he could walk.
He played in his hometown, Jyllinge, where his father coached him for eight years.
He then got scouted by Nordsjaelland at the age of 12, and that was when he started taking football more seriously.
According to Mikkel, he didn't realize he was going to be a professional until he became a senior player at 17, making his senior debut for Nordsjaelland.
As a first-year player at U17, he had a rough time where he played football the least and he thought he had a lot of issues.
Having to play the least and with the older players made him think if he wanted to play more. In his second year, he became the club's best player.
After his unofficial debut against Vejgaard in a Danish Cup, everything went so fast that he barely believed himself. “It’s a sacrifice, but it’s paying off”, Mikkel said.
After three seasons in the first team, he joined Italian Serie A club Sampdoria in February 2020. He scored his first Serie A goal in a 3-0 win over Lazio.
He then signed a five-year deal with Bretford for a €15 million fee in August 2022.
Mikkel has a nickname
Mikkel has nickname “IL Ragazzino.” He got the name while he was playing at FC Nordsjaelland.
He was the youngest first-teamer, so they nicknamed him “IL Ragazzino,” which means The Little Boy.
Her son's impressive performance at Euro made him a star
Mikkel's impressive performance in the Euro 2020 made him a star which is indeed one of his breakthrough performances.
He appeared at Euros as a backup to Christian Eriksen after Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest during his side's opening game against Finland.
He became the youngest Danish player to score at the European championship after scoring a 4-1 win over Russia in the UEFA Euro 2020.
In the semi-final, he scored the first goal against England. Although Denmark lost 2-1 after extra time, his outstanding performance was commendable.
