Early life
Ruiz was born in Los Palacios. He was raised alongside his two siblings, a brother and a sister. As a boy, he was scouted by Betis.
Since Seville is nearly 30 kilometers from Los Palacios, his parents could not afford to take him back and forth to the training every day.
But Betis' youth team boss did not want to lose the young talent so he provided his mother Chari Pena a cleaning job.

Upon returning to Real Betis after being loaned out to Elche, he became the regular state under new coach Quique Setien and later renewed his contract until 2023 settling his buyout clause at €30 million.
He was recruited by Napoli from Real Betis in 2018 on a five-year contract, with Napoli paying his €30 million buyout clause.
In his last season at Napoli, he scored seven goals and provided five assists in overall competition before joining PSG on the 30th of August, 2022.
The reported initial transfer fee is £18.5 million.
He scored his first PSG goal in a 3-1 victory over Montpellier in February 2023, and at the end of the season, he lifted his first top-flight league title, League 1 title with PSG.
