Her husband left her alone to raise their children on her own
Fatimata was married to Ousmane Sr., a Malian with whom she gave birth to their four kids, two sons, and two daughters.
Ousmane, the eldest of their children, was born in 1997 in Vernon and brought up in Evreux.
However, soon after the birth of their fourth child, her husband left the family leaving her alone to raise their four kids.
As a single mom, she raised four kids doing odd jobs and at the same time made sure to take Ousmane to the training every day.

When he was in Dortmund, he had his first contact with them but at the time his goal was to play for Barcelona. Then in 2019 and again in 2023.

Fatimata is a pivotal part of the family and also in Ousmane's career.
She was the reason behind Ousmane's first professional contract with Rennes in 2015 despite interest from Europe's big clubs.
He wanted to leave but she asked him to stay.
"Fatimata is the one who will decide Ousmane's future", Ousmane's agent Badou Sambague said in an interview back in 2016.
According to him, he wanted to leave but she wanted him to stay in Rennes and sign his first professional contract.
The following year, Ousmane became the youngest player to score 10 Ligue 1 goals.
Ousmane credits his mother for what he has achieved.
"Everything I am and everything I have achieved is thanks to my mother and father", he said in an interview.
Her son is married to a Moroccan TikToker
Ousmane has been happily married to a Moroccan TikToker, Rima Edbouche since December 2021.
Edbouche is from Douar Aghbalou, Southwestern Morocco. According to the sources, the couple met when Ousmane was playing for Rennes.
They married in a private ceremony in December 2021 in Moroccan attire and played Moroccan music in the ceremony.
The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter on the 16th of September, 2022 at a local hospital in Barcelona.
