Austin was her high school sweetheart
Burrhus and Austin were high school sweethearts. Burrhus was his first girlfriend and first wife.
They dated for several years before getting married on the 24th of November, 1990.
While appearing on Larry King's show, when asked by Larry about his first kiss, he said his first kiss was with his first girlfriend, Kathy, when he was seventeen.
Austin said he was a very shy person back then. When Larry asked about what happened to Kathy, he said he was married and divorced.
He didn't want to say further, so he asked Larry for the next question.
However, her marriage to Austin was annulled two years later on the 7th of August, 1992.
The same year, in December, he married a wrestling manager, Jeanie Clarke, with whom he was working at the time.
It was Clarke who provided Austin with the ring name Stone Cold Steve Austin. According to him, he was wrestling as Steve Austin back in the day.
He was then given the name stunning Steve Austin by one of his friends he was traveling with.
He got fired from his job, after which he thought of going with a new identity. He then went with the name The Ringmaster but soon got tired of it.
Austin came up with the idea of something related to cold-blooded after watching the documentary of a ruthless serial killer, Richard Kuklinski, because he was known as the ice-man.
He presented the idea in the meeting with Vince McMahon. They came with names like Fang McFrost, Otto von Ruthless, Ice Dagger, etc, which he didn't like.
He went home frustrated, and his then-wife Clarke made a cup of tea for him. She asked him not to worry and to drink the tea before it got stone cold.
It was how his ring name was born, Austin told Larry King.

Austin, who is a six-time world champion, has a jaw-dropping net worth of $30 million.
She does not share any kids with Austin
Though their marriage was annulled after two years of marriage, they dated for many years before their marriage.
They do not share any kids. Following their annulment, Burrhus maintained a private lifestyle out of the spotlight. It's not known if she remarried.
However, Austin is a father of two daughters, Stephanie, born in 1992, and Cassidy, born in 1996, whom he shares with his second ex-wife, Jeanie Clarke.
When he married Clarke, he also adopted Clarke's daughter, Jade Adams, who was born from her previous relationship with Chris Adams.
When Austin had his first child, he said he was someone who never, ever wanted to have kids. and although he loved kids, he didn’t want to have any of his own.
But holding his kid for the first time was cool and was the best days of his life, he added.
The reason Austin walked away from WWE in 2003
Austin was at the peak of his career when an injury sidelined his career.
He had a severe injury at Summer Slam 1997 during a bout with Owen Hart when Hart accidentally dropped him on his head, leading his neck to break.
He had to undergo neck surgery two years later but was forced to retire from in-ring action in 2003 at the age of 38.
While appearing on the Howard Stern Show, he said it was the health reasons behind his retirement and then the fact that on the creative end, it buried him, dogging him with stupid stuff that didn't even make sense.
The worst one was when he was asked to lose the match against Ric Flair.
Austin has been making sporadic appearances ever since. In April 2022, he returned for a one-off match against Kevin Owens.
In an interview with Sportskeeda, he said that retiring at the age of 38 was one of the toughest things he's ever had to do, to walk away from the business he loved so much.
"This is one of my biggest, if, not the biggest passions of my life. So it was very hard for me to walk away at 38 years of age", he said.
