They soon began getting involved romantically and her father was cheating on her mother.
Her father said the moment her mother caught him cheating was the most embarrassing moment of his life.
Her father then joined wrestling. During the initial phase of his career, his introverted and shy nature became a hindrance to his success.
Dave thought that when an introverted person is constantly bombarded with attention, the aftermath of that is that he/she just wants to crawl under a rock and hide.
However, he overcame this, won the big gold, and became world champion.
At the time he was married to Angie but his life as a world champion was not right for his marriage. His marriage started to fall apart.
He was never at home and it was hard for his family to connect with him when he was not home for weeks or a whole month.
Dave said before he was always too shy to talk to girls but all of a sudden the girls were throwing themselves at him.
The night outing which started as an innocent night party with his wrestling buddies taking the limousine to the hottest clubs in town and being recognized by fans and promoters and granting them free entries to the VIP lounge and exclusive drinking perks, quickly turned dark.
It started affecting his life as a family man. He got addicted to the thrilling nightlife where he was surrounded by other women.
He had many brief romances while his wife, Angie, was alone at home.
Women were thrilled by him as he was so intimidating in the ring and yet so charming and approachable in his private life.
Dave said girls were always an issue in his life and he partied way more than he should have in his life.
He didn’t have a home and his address was changing daily. His children were struggling all this time to cope with the absence of their father.
His wake-up call in life was when Keilani, his eldest daughter, couldn’t take it anymore and she ran away from home.
Keilani said it was tough when she didn’t get to see him that often because he was always working.
Dave wrote about this incident in his autobiography as the toughest time in his life.
He recalled his past when he was thrown out of his home at 17 by his father and now he was that father who drove his child away from home by simply not being there for them.
At that time Keilani was living with her friends like her father did when his home was no longer a home for him.
He then saw the bad influence his daughter was exposed to like d*ugs, teen pregnancy, and others.
Dave then became a grandfather at the age of 30 which shocked him to his core.
Dave then met Eddie Guerrero, who taught him the importance of family which helped him become a good husband and a good father.

Dave has been married three times. His first marriage was to Glenda in 1990, and they have two daughters, Keilani and Athena.
Dave’s second wife was Angie Lewis, whom he married in 1998, and they divorced in 2006.
Since October 2015, he has married Sarah Jade, a competitive pole dancer.
