Happily married for more than three decades
Mariella is happily married to Marco Rossi for more than three decades. They celebrated their 34th anniversary last June.
But how did they first meet? Mariella was just 20 years old and was working in a travel agency when she first met her future husband.
Marco at the time was playing for Campania Puteolana and when he needed to travel, he would get tickets from her.
They eventually started having a conversation followed by dinner. They dated for two years before marrying in 1989.
Since then, Mariella has been accompanying him throughout his football journey, supporting him through thick and thin.

Mariella shares two grown-up kids with her husband, Marco. They have a son, Simone, and a daughter, Gaia. Her son is a water polo player.
He played for the Italian team Ortigia for four years before leaving the team for OSC Budapest in 2023.

On the 8th of February, 2021, her son Simone penned a heartfelt note on her birthday via his Instagram.
With the picture of her alongside, he wrote that unfortunately, it was the third year they won't celebrate it together.
"For the woman you are but especially the mother you are, you would be celebrated every day," he added.
Simone also wrote that he is an ungrateful son and everything she does, he takes for granted because he knows in his heart that she is always there for him.
He gushed about her calling her an amazing woman who can do thousands of things and all of them excellently.
He expressed he and his sister will be eternally grateful for sacrificing and canceling herself for them and apologized for his ungratefulness.

During an interview with Nemzeti Sports, he said that his success in Hungary has changed his life and expressed that he will be forever grateful to the country, especially the players without whom he would be nowhere.
Considering it to be the best decision ever, he added saying he never achieved the results as a footballer as he has achieved as a coach at Budapest Honved and then at the national team and that he had success and experiences that changed his life.
Marco won the 2016-2017 Hungarian Football League with Budapest Honved and finished third in the 2017-18 Slovak First Football League.
He also led the national team to qualification for UEFA Euro 2020 and UEFA Euro 2024 since being the head coach of the national team in 2018.

Marco has achieved great success as a player and coach but has always kept his feet on the ground.
In an interview, Marco described himself as a normal person, nothing more special than that, and he always tries to keep his feet on the ground.
At the end of the day, I am not saving lives, he said.
He believes that the coaches and players must be available to the people when they need something like photos and autographs, explaining that they are nothing without people.
Marc also stated that confidence and attitude at the right time are equally important to succeed.
