He aspired to become a professional footballer from an early age. He started playing football in the first grade of primary school.

Marko’s career so far
Marko spent five years at Dinamo Zagreb between 2004 and 2009.
He then returned to his childhood club, ZET, in 2009 before joining Croatian side Lokomotiva Zagreb in 2010, where he began his professional career in 2012.
His impressive performance at the club provided him the chance to represent his nation in September 2014 against Cyprus.
Unfortunately, after several injuries, he was loaned out to six different clubs. Before joining Rijeka in 2023, he was playing on loan for Empoli from Juventus.
On an international level, Marko has represented Croatia at UEFA Euro 2016 and the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
