Michal Probierz is a Polish-born football manager and a former player who is the current manager of the Poland national team.

Early life
Probierz was born in Bytom, Poland. His father was a football referee.
Probierz credits his father and his Godfather Franciszek, who won the Polish Champion title thrice with Ruch Chorzow, for instilling in him a love for football.
He started playing football at the age of seven and began his youth career at 11 years old with LKS Lagiewniki.
He then represented Rozbark Bytom and Gwarek Zabrze before starting his senior career with Ruch Chorzow. As a player, he played as a midfielder.
After spending three seasons, he joined German clubs Bayer Uerdingen and later SG Wattenscheid 09, where he spent 5 years.
He spent most of his career with Gornik Zabrze. He hung up his boots at the age of 33 following a serious injury in a match between Widzew and RKS Radomsko.

Managerial career
Probierz's managerial career began at his local club, Polonia Bytom.
After a brief stint at the club, he was appointed manager of Ekstraklasa side Jagiellonia Bialystok, with whom he won both the Polish Cup and the Polish Super in 2010.
He also led Cracovia to win the 2019-20 Polish Cup in 2020. He was the Poland U21 team coach before taking over the national team in September 2023.
In an interview in June 2023, he said he was happy to be promoted to youth coach.
On the 26th of March, 2024, he led Poland to the last qualifying spot for the UEFA Euro 2024 during the UEFA Euro 2024 qualification play-off final.
He was imprisoned in Germany when he was 16 years old
Probierz confessed to being imprisoned in Germany when he was 16 years old. According to him, the manager couldn't say what to do next.
He told him if he didn't find a club within a week, then he would return.
The manager didn't arrange anything, so he ran away from the apartment in Bevern and hitched a ride.
But then the manager reported to the police that he had stolen his clothes. He was detained in Kassel. They checked if he had stolen anything.
It wasn't his size, but he landed up in jail for 24 hours. After he got out of jail, the police bought him a train ticket because he had no money.
He had no visa but he requested the customs officers to let him into Poland.
Married life and kids
Probierz was previously married to his first wife, whose name is still a mystery. They had two sons together.
Following their divorce, he found love once again. He is currently with his new partner Marta whom he met in a restaurant.
In an interview, he reflected on when he first met Marta. According to him, he and Marta had the opportunity to spend time in the same restaurant.
On the same day, they accidentally bumped into each other thrice without exchanging any words.
The next time he asked, they started dating. He said he and Marta are poles apart.
In 2016, they welcomed their son, Henryk. Besides that, he is also a grandfather to his two grandkids.
