Phillipp is an Austrian-born Kenyan. His mother is from Austria and his father is from Kenya

His parents first met in Kenya while his mother was vacationing in Kenya. They fell in love with each other and decided to settle in Vienna after their marriage.

Phillipp grew up alongside his sister in Vienna. He was there until he moved to Germany at the age of 16.

His passion for football developed early on

Phillipp's passion for football developed early on. He started kicking the ball since the day he stood up.

As he grew older, he was always playing with the ball shooting against the door in their apartment in Vienna which would annoy their neighbors sometimes.

His father also loved football and wanted to play football but he couldn't so he saw his dream of playing football in his son.

He enrolled him in the local club Austria Wien when he was six years old. He spent a decade there.

When he was around 15 or 16 years old, he realized he could make something from football.

At 15, he left his home to chase his dream of becoming a footballer.

He joined the German side VfB Stuttgart and after three years in its youth club, he made his first appearance for its reserve team.

He never doubted his talent

Phillipp said he never doubted his talent. For him, it was always hard work, the hard work that his father instilled in him from the very beginning.

His father ran a restaurant in Vienna. He was always busy and at the same time, he drove him back and forth to the training.

He did it for more than a decade. If he couldn't do something that other guys did then he would try two times harder.
