Rick Talked About Percy Jackson And The Olympian Adaptation

Rick has created a fantasy television series, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, based on his book series that goes by the same name.

He told the book fans would be surprised at how beautifully the book has been adapted.

He added their easter egg in the adaptation.

He said that even the hardcore fans who know the book line by line might not have expected the things that will be on the screen.

He said the team worked hard on the source material, and they decided to make it fun and exciting.

He shared they have added a nice backstory to the lightening thief, which was never in the book.

He said seeing that story on screen will make even more sense about the storyline.

Rick Was Inspired To Write Percy Jackson And The Olympian From His Son

Rick shared that he never thought his books would be so popular.

He shared his first novel, about the story of The Lightning Thief Percy, which started as a bedtime story for his son.

He shared his son was nine years old and was struggling with dyslexia and ADHD and was having problems with his homework.

He said his son loved Greek mythology, so he began telling him Greek stories

When he ran out of original Greek myth stories, he made up a story about Percy Jackson to show his son that if he had ADHD and dyslexia in Percy's World, it was a sign that he was a demigod.

Rick Talked About Self-Acceptance

Rick said whether anyone has some learning problem, comes from a different background, has a different perspective, or has something that makes them different, that is not their weakness; instead, it is their strength.

He added it can be a sign of greatness or superpower.

Rick Talked About Walker Scobell

Walker Scobell plays the role of Percy Jackson in a fantasy series created and written by Rick Percy Jackson and the Olympian

He said Walker is hilarious, and he loves his smile.

He said Walker had a scene where he had to put a gecko in the woods, and he revealed that Walker had to spend a lot of time petting the gecko to get the perfect shot.

He said Walker became so good at swordplay as she trained a lot in the camp.

But for one particular scene, he had to pretend that he didn’t know how to handle the sword and play with the sword badly as his character didn’t know how to play the sword at that time.

He watched one scene 20 times when Walker fell from the hill.

He said a part of it was done by his body double, and Walker himself did the rest.

He shared he was there the whole day watching that fall scene. He said he felt hurt after watching them fall down the hill.
