From a part-time football to becoming a pro
Growing up in Australia, Lyndon was not a very big fan of football. His main sport growing up was rugby.
He played both games for a while but got to an age where he had to choose.
When he moved to Goal Coast with his mother, his uncle signed him up without asking.
At the time, he wanted to play to have fun with his mates and wasn't anything professional.
According to him, it was part-time, and training at night and playing on the weekends.
He had a full-time 9 to 5 job. He was working for a sports company, BLK, in the factory.
He eventually realized that working 9 to 5 was not what he wished for and luck played a part as he got a call from someone at Queen of South.
"It was a massive thing for me. I became very determined when I came back to Queen's first team to try and make it as a professional in football", he said.
The reason behind choosing Scotland over Australia
Lyndon said he didn't think playing internationally would happen to him, so it was surreal for him when he got a call from both teams.
According to him, Australia's assistant manager went to watch him while he was playing against Celtic for Livingston.
They talked but during the same week, he got in touch with Scotland's national team manager Steve Clarke as well.
The Lockdown happened, and everything sort of stopped. Both the managers have asked him to take his time.
He then met Australia's national team manager, Graham Arnold, and kept in touch with him during the lockdown.
But in the end, he went to represent Scotland. "I went with my heart and my gut, and I chose Scotland," he told FourFourTwo Magazine.
He also said that he wanted to give Scotland what they gave him, crediting them for pushing him to where he is today.
