Death Of Son

John and Suzanne lost their son, Matthew, on 28 October 2023.

Matthew was found dead at his own house on Saturday. Law enforcement sources said that he died due to apparent drowning. 

He was found unresponsive in a Jacuzzi at his home by his assistant, and he immediately called 911. 

According to TMZ, Matthew came to his home after playing pickleball, and he sent his assistant to do some errands. 

The first responders were called for cardiac arrest later; it was treated as some water emergency. Sadly, the first responders could not revive him, and he was declared dead at the scene.

No drugs or alcohol were found near the scene. The actual reason behind his death has not been confirmed yet.

Matthew Dealt With Severe Addiction

Matthew is known for playing Chandler Bing on the NBC television series Friends. 

The show aired in 1994 and ended in 2004. In an interview, Matthew revealed that when he was filming for Friends, his addiction to substances got so worse that he could not even watch his show. 

He said he took 55 vitamins a day, weighing around 128 pounds. 

He added he could not watch himself on screen as he was so thin. He shared that he spent $9 million to get sober. 

Matthew said that he wanted to help people who struggled with addiction like him. 

He shared in his book that when he dies, the first thing he wanted people to talk about would be the work he did to help people who struggled with addiction, not about him being Chandler Bing from Friends.

Perry Hid About His Addiction

When Perry made everyone laugh as Chandler Bing in the sitcom Friends for decades, no one knew that he was keeping some secrets. 

Matthew was dealing with over-addiction, which made his life hell, and no one knew about it. 

In an interview, Matthew opened up about his hard-fought battle with addiction. 

He said that secret killed him from the inside. He revealed his secret through his book as he wanted to help people and message them that they should seek support and reach out for help on time. 

Perry Almost Died Because Of His Addiction

Perry shared that once he was rushed to the hospital, the doctors told his parents that he had only a 2 percent chance of survival. 

He was on life support. Perry spent half of his life in treatment. He went to rehab fifteen times and was in therapy for 30 years. 

He even survived 14 surgeries and was on detox 65 times. He has many scars on his body. 

Matthew Had Crush On Jennifer Anniston

Matthew and Jennifer worked on the show Friends, but they met before they worked together. 

Matthew asked Jennifer on a date, but she refused and asked him to be her friend. He said he had to pretend he did not have a crush on her while working with her.
