Hojbjerg was having a tough period in his life, having to lose his father, Christian Hojbjerg to cancer in 2014.

He was used to playing with the same age in his hometown, but when he moved to Germany, he had to be very fast suddenly because he had to play with much older than him.
It was a challenge for him to be a professional every day, to behave like a man every day, and to make choices like a man.
He was the youngest person at the time to debut in the Premier League at 17 in April 2013 at Bayern Munich.
While he was at Bayern Munich, he was loaned out to FC Augsburg and Schalke 04 before moving to Southampton.
