Rigobert faces a near-death experience
In 2016 Rogobert was hospitalized after he suffered from a life-threatening cerebral attack while he was at his home.
He was immediately rushed to a local hospital. He was in a coma for two days in the hospital.
Later he was transferred to France for further treatment. One of his family members confirmed the news.
After a few months, he recovered from it.
He thanked all the people of Cameroon for their love and support and said that their wishes and love encouraged him to get better soon.
He also thanked the government, which helped him during his hardest time and paid all his medical bills.

After his complete recovery, he returned to Cameroon in 2017 and resumed his coaching duties.

Rigobert is the new manager for the national team of Cameroon
The sports minister of Cameroon decided to appoint Rigobert as the new manager for Cameroon.
He replaced Portuguese coach Antonio Conceicao da Silva Oliveira who managed Cameroon to 3rd place in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Cameroon football association was looking forward to quality for World Cup 2022, which is going to be held in Qatar, and they wanted to secure a good position.
So they decided to appoint Rigobert, who has already managed the under-21 Cameroon team and has worked on their technical capacity.
Rigobert's managerial career
After his successful playing career, he retired and got into coaching.
He was appointed as the manager of the Cameroon A team in 2016.
In that following year, he had to go through a cerebral stroke, and he had to take a break for some time from his duties as a manager.
After his recovery, he again continued his managerial duties.
He led the team to the qualification stage of the 2018 African Nations Championship.
In 2018 he was appointed as the manager of the under-23 national football team of Cameroon for the 2019 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations Campaign.
